The lost art of synchronized swimming
POSTED 7.20.13 Blog

My swim level 5 class meets first period everyday. They work hard, swimming laps and treading water while perfecting their skills. But on Saturdays, they approach their aquatic abilities in a different way- a very advanced and intricate synchronized swimming routine set to “Alive” by Krewella.

Each camper contributed several dance moves and on the last Saturday of the session, they performed routine in the second pen for the other swim classes. Their 3 minutes in the spotlight was nearly flawless, complete with grace and smiles. When they finished their water ballet, the waterfront erupted in applause and the six beautiful performers celebrated with an underwater hug.

The girls dedicated their one and only performance to CT Hannah Shuman for her support and precise operation of the music. I couldn’t have been prouder of all the work they put into this and their regular classes.
