Yay Co-ed Canoe Trip!
Fleur de Lis and William Lawrence’s annual canoe trip was a huge success this past weekend. 7 second year seniors and I hit the Connecticut River with our male counterparts for a beautiful 2 days of paddling. Due to the recent rain, the river was high and fast allowing the campers to do less paddling and more socializing; they had few complaints about this situation.
We camped on our own island for the night complete with a mud massage treatment for our feet while docking the boats for the evening. I got a break from the cook stove for the night as the boys prepared the Mac and Cheese and Hamburgers. As the brilliant red sun set, the Milky Way appeared and we counted constellations late into the night.
On Saturday, we canoed a little farther and then piled into the vans to head to William Lawrence for the social and rifle match the following day. All of the girls fell fast asleep after too much canoeing and mingling (see below for proof).
The girls were so enthusiastic the whole weekend; I was proud of them! Definitely a weekend to remember and Modge Podge about! The last trip of July session is coming up shortly. Until then….
Cheer and S’mores
